Dr. Michele Linardi, a former PhD student in LIPADE (Computer Science, University of Paris), wins the BDA (Francophone Data Management Community) Best PhD Thesis Award for 2019.

This award recognizes the novelty and importance of the contributions made by Dr. Linardi in the area of data management, and more specifically, in the area of time series indexing and analytics.

The research of Dr. Linardi will allow scientists and practitioners to run complex analysis algorithms on very large collections of time series in a short time. Therefore, it will enable the extraction of new knowledge and further progress in fields as diverse as neuroscience, astrophysics, entomology, remote sensing, vehicle operation monitoring, and manufacturing engineering.
